you need three sheets in order to maintain stock in excel. we create three registers in excel, 1. Stock register, 2. Purchase register, 3. Sale register

First Step

First register for Stock: In stock register we can come to know about what unit purchase and what unit sale.we have to create five column in stock register, 1st Column for date and the 2nd column for item name list, 3rd column for purchase column and 4th column for sale and 5th column for stock, In stock register you have to make item name list. That item name list will go into purchase register with the help of drop-down list, without making item name list again & again in purchase register that’s why we use data validation formula for making the drop-down list.

Second Step

Second register for Purchase: we come to know about what unit we have purchased through purchase register. In purchase register, we have to create three column, 1st column for date and the 2nd column for item name list, a 3rd column for the unit. we have to make item list what we purchase. we have written the item name list with the help of drop-down list, we have created a data validation list so that we do not have to type the item names again and again. Then we go to the stock register in purchase column. there we apply the “sumif formula” in order to know about a purchase.

Third Step

Third register for Sale: In Sale register, here we get to know about what unit we have sold through sale register. In sale register, we have to create three column, 1st column for date and the 2nd column for item name list, the 3rd column for the unit. we have to make item list what we sell. we have written the item name list with the help of drop-down list, we have created a data validation list so that we do not have to type the item names again and again. Then we go to stock register in sale column. there we apply the “sumif formula” in order to know about the sale.

Final Step

In stock register: Now It becomes very easy to get the stock. In the Stock register, We minus Purchase into Sale, then the stock comes out. We have put a conditional formula in the stock column in the stock register so that we can know about the stock day to day stock unit.
